| American Board of Psychiatry Recognizes Community Mental Health Center Doctor |

The American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, Inc. (ABPN) has recognized Tenycia R. Shepherd, M.D. for successfully passing the Initial Certification Examination in Psychiatry. Dr. Shepherd is a staff psychiatrist at the Douglas County Community Mental Health Center. She is a graduate of Omaha Burke High School, the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and the University of Nebraska Medical Center.
In becoming Board certified, Dr. Shepherd has completed rigorous training and achieved the gold standard in each of the six core competencies of patient care, medical knowledge, interpersonal and communication skills, professionalism, systems-based practice and practice-based learning and improvement to practice quality specialized medicine in Psychiatry. “Dr. Shepherd is one of the best physicians on our staff and it’s great to see her nationally recognized,” said John Sheehan, director of the Douglas County Community Mental Health Center. The mission of the Douglas County Community Mental Health Center is to provide high quality, comprehensive mental health care for the underserved of Douglas County.
