Emergency Management Radio AM 1670

The Douglas County Emergency Management Agency (DCEMA) is licensed by the Federal Communications Commission to broadcast emergency safety messages on AM 1670.  This frequency is reserved exclusively for use by DCEMA.  DCEMA will broadcast important messages during special events and as needed for Community Emergencies and Natural Disasters.  The radio station is owned and operated by DCEMA and with the assistance of key volunteers, it has proven to be very valuable especially to those persons in automobiles.  The messages may include warnings, cautionary statements and safety directives.  Road signs are placed in and near the broadcast area where AM Radio 1670 is being utilized to alert drivers to tune in and listen to timely and important messages.
