Become a Storm spotter

The weather communications volunteers for Douglas County are those members of the Heartland REACT (Radio Emergency Associated Communications Teams) and ARES (Amateur Radio Emergency Service) who choose to support the community during severe weather threats. Storm spotters are typically activated by the Douglas County Emergency Management Agency (DCEMA) in Douglas County to provide informative and very important weather observation data to the Emergency Operations Center.  For more information on membership in one of these groups and, in doing so, becoming eligible to assist in monitoring severe weather conditions in Douglas County, click on these links:  REACT  ARES
