Community Organizations Active in Disaster (COAD) is a local organization that brings together stakeholders interested in building better prepared and more resilient communities. The COAD does not provide direct services, but provides a network through which individual organizations can more effectively address their mission and service goals during all four phases of a Community Emergency and Natural Disaster (CEND) incident.  The Omaha area is served by the Heartland Community Organizations Active in Disaster (HCOAD) which has regularly scheduled meetings.  Organizations interested in affiliating with HCOAD in our local area may call the current Chairperson, John Sorensen at 402-659-7605 or DCEMA at 402-444-5040 or Sarpy County EMA at 402-593-5785.
