Douglas County Human Resources (DCHR)
It is the intent of the Douglas County Civil Service Commission (CSC) and the Human Resources (HR) Department to ensure a fair and equitable human resource system that operates in accordance with good management principles and ensures a work environment conducive to the health and benefit of employees and the public.
In order to reach these goals, DCHR will adhere to the following:
- Recruit and select employees on the basis of their ability, experience, knowledge and skill.
- Provide a workplace free from harassment and discrimination.
- Provide equitable compensation including benefits.
- Assure fair treatment of all applicants and employees in all aspects of human resources administration.
- Provide training to assure quality service to the public and promote effective human resource management.
- Provide a system to evaluate the performance of employees based on a fair, timely and equitable review of their performance.
- Provide guidance for action in those instances where performance is less than adequate.
- Assure that employees are protected against coercion for partisan political purposes for participating or not participating in legal political activities as an expectation or condition of employment.
