| Labor Day "You Drink You Drive You Lose" Enforcement |

On various dates during August and through Labor Day weekend 2011, the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office (DCSO) was involved in the statewide “You Drink & Drive, You Lose” Selective DUI Enforcement, in a coordinated effort to decrease the number of alcohol impaired drivers on the roadways. The Nebraska Office of Highway Safety (NOHS) provided grant funding for overtime for this selective enforcement. The following statistics were compiled during the enforcement operations:
Our enforcement goal was to use saturated patrol to contact suspected intoxicated drivers, who were arrested and taken off the street; thus creating safer streets for the citizens of Douglas County. |
