Douglas County Wellness Committee
On December 9th 2008 the County Board of Commissioners approved the development of a County-wide Wellness Committee. On December 30th the first Wellness Committee meeting took place with volunteer committee members throughout the various Douglas County departments.
We have taken steps for creating a successful workplace wellness program. These steps include the following:
- Secure senior level support
- Create a wellness champion committee
- Identify target areas
- Develop a strategic wellness operating plan
- Develop appropriate interventions
- Create a supportive environment that rewards employee engagement
- Evaluate results
